Since Fuzzball’s sleeping went down the toilet, I’ve been trying to figure out what I can do to make things slightly better around here. I’m totally beat and it’s starting to show. I dusted off my copy of Dr. Marc Weissbluth’s Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. Even though with Shnook, I wanted to light this book on fire, @Danielle suggested I might look into this four month sleep drama from his perspective. I still find the book a bit confusing, but the sum of it all is that I’ve got an overtired baby. I’ve started to take note of Fuzz’s one-to-two-hour of wakefulness again and attempt to put him down for naps before he gets too overtired.
The nighttime sleep is still totally screwed up, but we are about to travel to the east coast for 10 days so I’m not sure trying to rectify it right now is the best option.
Here we are settling down before an afternoon nap today. He’s clearly tired, in fact, a little rambunctiously overtired. But luckily, after this he took a two and a half hour nap in the bed next to me. These seem to be the longest naps for him–either next to me or in the swing, although the swing naps have been getting shorter and shorter.
Anyway, please note the giant scratch between his eyes– more baby nail clipping fail on my part. I cut and cut, and even file, but they’re still sharp, dammit.
