Hi, I’m Casey and I’m an Android. I had the option of buying an iPhone but I just couldn’t do it. I love my Android widgets and I love the enormous screen on my Samsung Skyrocket, I knew I’d be missing out on some apps but also knew the really cool ones would eventually make it onto Android. The one app I longed for with the tiniest glimmer of jealousy was Instagram. I had my reservations and complaints about Instagram, “Hey! Look at me! I took a mediocre photo, put 18 filters on it and TA-DA!” Perhaps that was just the bitter Instagram-less photographer in me.
Anyway, Instagram was finally released on Android, I downloaded it on my birthday and y’all? It’s pretty fun. So far I’ve added an awful lot of photos of my one eyed cat and a few photos of my baby, there’s also some jellyfish and budgies on there too. I’ve slacked a bit on my whole “photo a day” thing with my DSLR but I’ve taken plenty with my phone over the last couple of weeks to fill in the blanks. They aren’t super sharp, perfectly formatted or worthy of life size wall hangings – but they are perfect little moments of my daily life with this perfect little baby that I would have slipped by had it not been for my phone.
I’m still learning the finer points of phoneography, it’s all so new to me. I’ve seen some pretty amazing stuff come from phones and I’ve been learning as much as I can without going into information overload. This is a really good post on taking good photos with your phone if you’re interested.
Here’s my most favorite photos from the last few weeks of this little baby I call Vivi.
You can find me on Instagram, I’m mooshinindy.
