Last night as I laid down in bed for the night, about two hours earlier than normal because I boycotted any kind of work for the night, all Addison wanted to do for a couple hours was nurse.
Typically her nursing sessions are about 15-20 minutes here and there, but in the past 2-3 days it seems like they are steadily increasing by HOURS.
I know it isn’t going to last forever, but this also comes at a time that the East Coast is being hammer with a disgusting heat wave, as it is already 94 degrees at barely 10 in the morning.
I am over the moon that breastfeeding is going well, but I have officially dubbed myself the dairy queen in my house, because the mixture of this heat, and the long drawn out nursing sessions I feel like a dairy cow!
But one of my biggest concerns is a new found need for Addison to scream, cry, and refuse a breast. I have never dealt with this before. She has done fine nursing since she was born, for almost three months now. Even with my older children, I never experienced it. So I am looking for all the help of the nursing experts out there!
Is there a reason she is crying and screaming and refusing to latch on at the breast. Eventually she will calm down, but it certainly takes a while to get her to that point. She is not a high strung baby, she is very easy going… so these episodes are really out of character for her, and confusing.
I am at a loss, but praying it passes by soon!
