I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding Avery since she was born and plan on doing it for as long as I can. While I love the special time that I get to spend with her while I am nursing, there are some challenges that come with the task. Given that Avery still eats every two to three hours, there are times when I am nursing her and my other daughter, Harlan, needs my attention. She’s been in the bathroom and needed me to help, she gets hungry herself and needs me to get her something from the kitchen, and sometimes she just needs me to give her love and affection.
These simple tasks become much more challenging when I am nursing because I don’t have two hands free to help her out. When I heard about the KoalaKin Hands Free Nursing Pouch I was in awe of how genius of an idea it was. The KoalaKin allows me to safely breastfeed Avery hands free, leaving me free to do other things.
Created by mom, Vivian Muehlen, who experienced some of the common nursing problems many moms experience; a poor latch, arm, neck and shoulder pain and also the need to stay productive, led her to create a product that that would allow mothers to safely and comfortably nurse their babies hands free.
The Koala Kin is made out of 100% breathable fabric and is designed to mimic a mothers hold while nursing her child. The KoalaKin has three adjustable straps to accommodate different mom and baby sizes. The pouch goes on much like a vest and gives great back and shoulder support. It’s also very versatile and allows for you to easily switch the baby from each breast without having to take the entire thing off.
The KoalaKin has undergone rigorous safety testing and has recently met all the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) standards mandated by Congress in 2008.
I love the KoalaKin because it lets me accomplish so much more while I am nursing Avery, while still allowing me to bond with her. I’ve washed dishes with it on, played dress up with Harlan, and even walked the streets of NYC with it on, all while nursing Avery! I’ve even been able to work and write at the computer while nursing her. It gives me much more freedom and I don’t feel like I am nursing and not being productive all of the time. It’s a genius product that has helped make my life with two much easier.
I am so excited to get to give away a KoalaKin for a lucky reader! Just enter below!
I received a KoalaKin for at a discounted price for purposes of review. All opinions are my own.
