Lucky Son of a BunnyCasey Mullins
No stuffed animals! No soft blankets! No crib bumpers! Back is best! Safe sleep!
For months and months Vivi has slept in a sterile crib in baby straight jackets. Shortly before our two week trip to Utah I decided to break the swaddle cold turkey and if there were ever a time to really do it? Two weeks away from her straight jacket would be the time. It went amazingly well and instantly the baby went to being a stomach sleeper, most nights she’d flip out of my arms onto her stomach before even making contact with the mattress.
I sent Cody nightly ‘crime scene baby’ photos as she looked like a victim passed out, face down in the travel bed.
Just this last week Vivi has taken a liking to a certain stuffed bunny I picked out for her when I was about 8 months pregnant. Being born in May of 2011 put her in the Chinese year of the rabbit which made me feel far less guilty for purchasing the slightly overpriced but oh-so-soft bunny. Today as she rolled out of my arms and into her bed she went straight for her bunny, took it an a chubby stranglehold and fell fast asleep.
Are you ready for the cute? I mean, we’re talking so cute you’re going to want to procreate and sniff strangers’ babies on the street cute.
That’s one lucky son of a bunny.
