Memorial Day Plans: What's Your Family Doing?

By Roni |

Little Bean and Little Guy This Morning

Everyone’s talking about this weekend like it’s a holiday or something.

Oh. Wait.

It’s IS!

Am I the only one who completely disrespects Memorial Day? It seems to sneak up on me every time.

This year we are doing what we do every year…

NOTHING!

And I’m totally looking forward to it.

Just me, the husband and these two little guys.

Little Bean and Little Guy This Morning

I’m assuming we are the boring ones and you guys have fabulous plans this Memorial Day. So lay it on me. What’s your family doing to kick off summer?

Taking a drive up the Coast to spend the weekend with family! We’re not really doing anything special either though.. no BBQs, no potlucks, just lots of family love. Hope yours is fantastic, Roni! :)

We aren’t doing much either, though I am planning to get a massage on Monday (so glad my massage therapist is working that day), and have a playdate at one of our local wineries (it’s awesome to be a mom in Napa). Have a great weekend!

My baby boy is graduating high school this weekend. Spend as much time as you can while they are little, it goes soo fast!

Working on our very slow-going kitchen remodeling, and going to a cookout at my sister’s on Sunday. Whole fam damily will be there, should be fun. I’ll have to be careful what I allow myself to eat… and try to stay outside running around with kids instead of inside next to the cookies.

Have a great time doing nothing! That sounds like HEAVEN!

I’m hopefully driving out to the beach & then doing NOTHING! :)

Ha! We justt had our little girl on the 20th. After 30 hours of slow/stalled labor, an unplanned csection, and a mama who’s dealing with low milk supply issues :-( I’ve completely forgotten what day it even is. Our LC asked us on Thursday what our plans for the ho,iday weekend were, and my completely honest response was “What holiday?”

I just got home tonight from a whirlwind weekend. My cousin got married Saturday night & my oldest was in the wedding as a ring bearer. Tomorrow we are going to do something FUN, just me & my boys. Hubby has been out of town since last week, so I’m doing the single parent thing until Tuesday.

I’ve been wanting to ask you….does it still seem surreal to you that you have TWO kids now? I look at mine (ages 3 & 7), and I still can’t believe it. Makes me so proud. Just wondering if I was the only one who thought like that. ;)

  11. Roni says:

    Amanda,
Nope. It’s not only you! It is TOTALLY surreal!

I really thought I’d only have 1 too. So it’s still seems crazy I have this whole other little being to take care of now.

    Totally blows my mind!

Laze around enjoying the freedom our wonderful soldiers have provided for us! It is a great day to do extra stuff around the house getting ready for summer. Maybe go out to the cemetary and show the kids all the flags on the graves and send a thank you prayer up for all those that have given their lives to allow us this privilage. Barbecue some hamburgers and kick off summer, which I actually don’t like ( I DISPISE being hot, it’s a middle-age thing ;-) , but still try to get into for the fam!
