Well, I finally ran out of excuses as to why Arlo wasn’t ready to spend the night with his grandparents. My husband and I have also been so insanely busy lately that somedays we don’t find time to even share a kiss until we both fall exhausted into bed at night. So this Saturday afternoon my toddler heads to my mother-in-law’s house and sweet Arlo heads to my father and step-mom’s and I get a whole afternoon, evening, overnight, and morning alone with my husband.
We’ve made plans to catch a broadway series tour show that is playing this weekend in our city. We’re going to go to dinner and enjoy a bottle of wine without worry of little ones waiting for us at home. We’re going to stay out late and then … AND THEN … we are going to SLEEP IN in the morning.
It has been six months since I have had an uninterrupted night of sleep and been able to sleep in. I am looking forward to it in a big big way. The alone time with my husband is really needed to as we both are ready for some time to just enjoy being a couple and focus only on one another.
But once we’re up and awake Sunday, I guarantee you that it won’t be long before we are in the car and headed to round up our little ones. Despite the lack of sleep, the hardwork and the sometimes hectic nature of raising two children under two, we always look forward to being reunited as a family.
