Whether you believe in God or a Allah or more than one god or none at all, it’ll be hard not to smile at this story. Or sob uncontrollably.
Alex Jones of South Wales was told when she was 6-months pregnant that her unborn son had no heartbeat, and was advised to make funeral arrangements for after the delivery, according to Café Mom.
She went ahead with a natural birth with a heavy heart (is there any other kind of heart when enduring that kind of soul-crushing act?), but instead of crying tears of sorrow, she got wept of elation, joy, and utter happiness.
The baby she had been told was dead was, in fact, alive.
At three months premature, he weighed in at a miniscule 1 pound, 1 ounce. But he was alive.
Baby Cohan started wriggling his toes after making his entrance to the world, and then groaned, telling them he was breathing.
Alex’s theory as to the awful misdiagnosis is Cohan was so small that perhaps his heartbeat was too faint to register on the doctor’s equipment.
He remained in intensive care for his first five months, but he just celebrated his first birthday and is said to be “happy, healthy and thriving” at a robust 14 pounds, 9 ounces, and is expected to live a normal, healthy life.
Have you ever witnessed a miracle?
