Mom Style: Cozy Winter Sweater EditionLauren Hartmann
People always say to “write what you know” and being a wardrobe stylist, I guess I have to say that I know clothes and style. Last month I did a couple of baby style posts (more to come!) and they were a hit, so I guess the advice is true. This led me to the thought that our babies shouldn’t be the only ones who get to be stylish!
Of course I realize that style changes a bit once you’re a mom – there are new things to take into consideration – but once you figure out what your new style is, I say run with it!
So, today we’ll be starting with a mom style essential: cozy winter sweaters. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites along with
Staring at Stars Reversible Knit Cardigan 1 of 8I own this sweater and I'm obsessed with it. And even though everyone and their mother already owns it, I'm still recommending it, because it's just that great. It's super cozy and warm and as a bonus you can totally nurse your baby discreetly by utilizing the long draped fabric of this sweater. Just saying.
Purchase from Urban Outfitters for $79.00
Sparkle Skye Jumper 2 of 8A classic with a sparkly spin and I'm completely head over heels for navy lately. I'd even go so far as to say that I truly believe that navy is the new black.
Purchase from Boden for $118.00
Alpaca Wrap 3 of 8Wraps are often easier than a pullover sweater when you're still nursing and I love this one. Red is a fun and festive color for the holidays, but this unexpected shade of red would be perfect year-round.
Purchase from Boden for $82.80
Dorothy Perkins Ivory Jumper 4 of 8OK, not to get all "let's talk about nursing again" on you, but this sweater would seriously be great. Easy to pull up or down. The loose knit on this adds fun visual interest and the loose fit is good for hiding those post-baby body woes.
Purchase from Dorothy Perkins for $44.00
Studio Sweater 5 of 8I love sweatshirts and post college I probably had about 20 hoodies hiding out in my closet. But now that I'm a "grownup" most sweatshirts just seem too frumpy, which is why I love this sweater. It's like a sweater version of the perfect crew-neck and I love the styling with a collared shirt underneath. Simple, comfortable and stylish.
Purchase from Gap for $44.95
Eversoft Stripe Sweater 6 of 8Who can say no to a cute stripe? I love the polished slouchiness of this striped sweater!
Purchase from Gap for $44.95
Colorblocked Raglan Sweater 7 of 8I own a sweater very much like this from Old Navy and I love it. The coral pop is a fun bit of girliness while the grey keeps it all anchored. The fit is slouchy but not sloppy. Perfect!
Purchase from Forever 21 for $24.80
Bird’s Eye Poncho 8 of 8Usually I hear the word poncho and run, but this one has a cool 60's polished vibe that I adore. And...just in case you didn't already think of it: you could totally nurse in this. Sorry. I had to throw one last nursing reference in there.
Purchase from Madewell for $148.50
