My husband’s holiday party for work is coming up, so I’ve been on the hunt for a fun, little holiday dress that could take me through the season in style and still work for family Christmas dinners and the like.
I was looking for something that was classic, polished, but still comfortable enough that I wouldn’t be fidgeting with it all night and something that would be nursing friendly (*Note, not all of these dresses will work for nursing moms, but at least half will!).
I finally found my perfect holiday dress and thought I’d share my search with you. All of these dresses are pretty budget friendly (my choice was only $24.95!) and considerate of mama fashion needs (i.e. nursing access, comfort and post-baby body issues).

Belted Cap-Sleeve Knit Dress 1 of 10I've tried this dress on and it's quite possibly the most figure flattering dress I've found since having a baby. Despite the price, the fabric on this little number is quality and purchasing this in this fun orangey-red would be a fun spin on the expected "holiday red" dress.
Purchase from Old Navy for $24.97
Mini Lace Dress 2 of 10The perfect dress if you plan on nursing a baby in between holiday festivities - the buttons and elastic waist fit the bill perfectly and I like the idea of going with navy since it's a bit more unexpected than tried-and-true black.
Purchase from ASOS for $70.36
Terry Sweatshirt Dress 3 of 10Yes, I do realize that this dress has the word "sweatshirt" in the title, but with the proper styling as you see here (black tights, chic booties and a statement necklace) it can be elevated to holiday status. Bonus: you'll have plenty of stretch to make room for that holiday dinner and you can dress it down and wear it long after the holiday parties are over.
Purchase from Gap for $54.95
Classic Black Shift Dress 4 of 10This dress was my personal holiday dress winner - if you don't own a shift dress yet, you should go buy this one stat. They are surprisingly figure flattering so give them a chance even if you're skeptical. I chose this one because it's fantastically cheap, but good quality - has some stretch, but not clingy. A classic for any wardrobe that you can dress up or down and makes for the perfect comfortable, yet chic holiday attire. (*Note: This dress isn't technically nursing friendly, but has a zipper in the back and I've nursed while wearing it by unzipping the back - not easy for public nursing, but if you can find a little privacy this will definitely work).
Purchase from H&M for $24.95
Embellished Shift Dress 5 of 10I adore the slightly art-deco feel to this dress and the fact that it comes with its own embellishments, means no need to worry about finding baby friendly jewelry for your ensemble. It's the perfect bit of sparkle for a holiday party.
Purchase from H&M for $49.95
Eliza J Lace & Faille Dress 6 of 10This dress would make nursing a snap with its overlapping design and the black lace + 3/4 sleeves will make it a classic holiday go-to.
Purchase from Nordstrom for $148.00
Xhiliration Belted Polka Dot Dress 7 of 10I own and love this dress. The polka dots are fun and I love the sheerness of it. I ditched the pink belt in lieu of a kelly green one I had, but go with the pink if that's your thing! Paired with a cute pair of heeled ankle booties you've got the perfect balance of sweet/tough chic.
Purchase from Target for $24.99
Lack Nothing Dress 8 of 10This dress has a slightly vintage vibe that I love, with small, pretty detailing that makes all the difference in elevating this from basic black dress to holiday stunner. Simple and stylish.
Purchase from Mod Cloth for $69.99
Long-Sleeve Smock Dress with Keyhole 9 of 10Classis holiday red, gets a revamp in this fun dress with a flirty keyhole cut-out which doubles as easy access for nursing moms with it's button closure.
Purchase from ASOS for $32.54
Jack by BB Dakota You and Me Forever Dress 10 of 10This dress just might be the most perfect dress for a new mom. Flowy and forgiving for a post-baby body, with easy access snaps for nursing. Comfort and style mixed into one little black dress.
Purchase from Mod Cloth for $59.99
