My 1-Year-Old’s Feet Are So Tiny I Can’t Find Real Shoes

My daughter is already 16 months old but she wears newborn shoes sizes 3-6 months. Now that she’s almost walking, I want to buy “real” shoes with proper soles, but I can’t find them in her size. Clementine’s biological great-aunt told me that none of the women in the family have a shoe size larger than 5. No word on how long the women in the family stayed in newborn shoe sizes — I should ask!

Also, just before Clementine’s first birthday, I gave away all of her 12-month clothes and automatically started putting Clementine in 18-month size. One day the babysitter, Asia, asked what happened to all of the size 12-month clothes, and she showed me how impossibly large 18-month sizes were on Clementine. I had to go buy a bunch more 12 month clothes — particularly leggings. She’s 16 months old and isn’t near growing out of 12-month pants.  All three of her siblings are just as small. They eat a ton. They’re strong and healthy, just small people. Kind of like little Fisher Price people.
