My Name is Emily. And this is My Baby Paul.

Hello there. My name is Emily, and it’s my first day here on the Baby’s First Year blog. My baby boy, Paul Richard, was born January 13, which makes him almost seven weeks old.

I’ve taken these past couple of months off from blogging in order to rest, relax, and get to know Paul better. I’ve come to find out, he’s a pretty cool little kid already. But before Paul was born, I enjoyed babbling over at the Being Pregnant blog.

Man, I’m glad I’m not pregnant anymore.

Paul is my fourth baby, and I’m super excited to have this opportunity to write about Paul’s first year of life, and of course share our adventures with you!

To start things off right, I thought you might want to get to know me a bit better. A few little fun tidbits of information about me:

My family and I live in central Indiana, where the winters are long and August is humid. I'm excited to take Paul to his first ever Indiana State Fair, the beaches of West Michigan, and maybe even on his first camping trip this summer.

In my former life, before becoming a mom to four children, I was a corporate interior designer. I still love design (especially mid-century furniture), but have found a true passion in social media and writing.

I would classify myself as a "sorta crunchy" kind of gal. I love a good birth story, wear my babies everywhere, breastfeed longer than most, and thrift shop like a crazy person.

Like I said, Paul is the youngest of four. He has two sisters (Piper, age 7 and Nola age 4) and one older brother (Gage, 2). And it's probably worth mentioning we also have two cats and a dog living under our roof. It's a crazy insane home, and I love it.

When I'm not blogging or procrastinating on twitter, I love to cook real food, read fat books, and even occasionally go for a short run.

Again, I’m pumped to start sharing Paul’s journey with you all. Be kind to me. I’m sleep deprived, typing with one hand, and breastfeeding with the other. Oh, and make sure to come back tomorrow! I’m planning on sharing with you a few of my favorite photos from Paul’s birth.
