Oh, Just A Baby In A Box, Nothing To See Here

So, yesterday a giant package arrived at our door, care of Skip Hop. Do you love Skip Hop? No, but do you loooove Skip Hop? We love Skip Hop, I tell you what. We love Skip Hop and we even got to model for Skip Hop (because my kid, have you seen him?),  and that is why there was suddenly a huge box sitting in our living room, filled with treasures, because aside from getting paid to play super model for an afternoon, and aside from getting to eat lunch on a rooftop with killer views of the Empire State Building with the owners of Skip Hop, we also got to pick out a few items from the Skip Hop repertoire to keep and love on forever. Pretty flippin’ sweet, is what.

Because of this I have come to a couple of important conclusions. For one, modeling is suuuper hard when you are of average looks. For two, opening a package from the mail is probably one of the world’s most exciting things to do. For last, boxes make excellent play pens when you have to use the bathroom and/or you want your kid to be able to play with his toys without fear that the dogs will steal one and escape with it to his secret hiding spot under the bed where he will proceed to have his way with it. Yes?

After the jump, BABIES IN BOXES! Plus a few un-retouched shots from the shoot (they have promised me there WILL be retouching! Yessss! Retouching!) Also a few of the treasures we picked out! But mostly, Babies! In Boxes! What is it with babies in boxes? One of my really good girlfriends created an entire castle out of boxes in her Manhattan living room for her kids, complete with a drawbridge. Boxes!

  • WHAT WE PICKED 5 of 11
Zoo Lunchies Insulated Lunch Box. This is the perfect size for a little toddler back pack, don't you think? I just need to rig up some straps on the back . . .
  • WHAT WE PICKED 6 of 11
    Zoo Bookends. Owl, please.
  • WHAT WE PICKED 7 of 11
Bubble Bath Suction Hooks. Our whole bathroom is covered in this delicious green tile. These doohickeys will make that tile useful.
  • WHAT WE PICKED 8 of 11
Playspot Interlocking Foam Tiles. Until we are ready to pull the trigger on a nice rug for the living room, these dudes will prevent my kid from breaking his head open on our hard, hard, hardwood floors. Plus, they're stinking cute.
  • WHAT WE PICKED 9 of 11
Central Park Outdoor Blanket + Cooler Bag. Apropros, since we plan on using it in Central Park.
  • UNRETOUCHED 10 of 11
I have it on good authority that the kind people at SkipHop graphics will be digitally adding approximately five pounds of hair for me. My vanity thanks you.
