Paul's 2nd Month in Snapshots

They say the more children you have, the less photos you will take of them when they’re babies. You will take hundreds, if not thousands, of photos of your firstborn, but with each additional child you add to the family, the less amount of photos you will take of just them. I know it’s true in my family, my youngest sister (now 27 years old) always whines about how there are very few photos of her.

I’m refusing to let that happen to Paul, even though he is my last and 4th child. I am not a good photographer, it’s just not a skill I have. I do not have a fancy camera, and I probably never will. But I do have a pretty sweet phone, and I’m savvy enough to know how to use it.

In Paul’s second month on Earth, he did some pretty great things. He became the littlest member of our local YMCA, and even starting sporadically sleeping through the night.

My tentative plan is to document Paul’s first year of life through quick and dirty camera phone photos. I figure, something is better than nothing, right?

  • Eskimo Kisses 1 of 12
    Eskimo Kisses
Proof that Paul's my flesh and blood. We have the same nose, for sure.
  • March Madness 2 of 12
    March Madness
Watching the first round with dad. Next to Christmas, it's the happiest time of year, until the Spartans lose.
  • Tummy Time Hater 3 of 12
    Tummy Time Hater
Paul is not a fan of tummy time. In fact, he very much hates it. But we continue to practice.
  • Cloth Diaper Duty 4 of 12
    Cloth Diaper Duty
Having 2 kids in cloth has really kept me on my laundry toes. Paul likes to supervise my work.
  • Sleep Sacked 5 of 12
    Sleep Sacked
It's the only way he sleeps at night. The Halo Sleep Sack has saved us. And yes, back is best.
  • The Witching Hour 6 of 12
    The Witching Hour
You can tell it's 4:30 pm not only from the hot sun creeping through the shades, but also by the scowl on Paul's face.
  • All Night Long 7 of 12
    All Night Long
Sleep, sleep, sleep. I crave it, but Paul likes to keep me awake into the wee hours.
  • First Smiles 8 of 12
    First Smiles
Paul really started to smile often this past month. One of my favorites caught on camera.
  • Road Trip! 9 of 12
    Road Trip!
Paul made his first of many road trips to Michigan to visit family. He's a road trip champ, such a good traveler.
  • Good Night 10 of 12
    Good Night
It really is my favorite time of the day. All is quite, and snuggles are aplenty.
  • I’m Baby Paul 11 of 12
    I'm Baby Paul
Someone got a label maker, and clearly started to abuse it.
  • Captain Drool-a-lot 12 of 12
    Captain Drool-a-lot
Oh this boy is starting to drool! And apparently he's not real thrilled about it either.
