Paul's Birth Story in Photos

By emily |

Each baby has a birth story of how they entered the world. I’m a self proclaimed birth story junkie, and if you had a baby, I probably will want to know the details. Even the TMI details. Go ahead, give it to me honest.

Did you go into labor on your own, or did you have a c-section? Where did you give birth? Hospital or home?  How long did it take? Did your recovery go well?

Heck, I could talk about all things birth related for hours!

My baby Paul was born exactly seven weeks ago today, and while it really wasn’t that long ago, it really does feel like ancient history to me. I was lucky enough to have my best friend (and fellow babble blogger) Casey photograph Paul’s arrival into the world. She not only an amazing friend, her photography skills are kinda brilliant (check out the 365 project she’s doing with her daughter, Vivi). And while I’m glad I’ll never have to go through natural childbirth again (Paul is our fourth and final), the photos of his birth are one of my most cherished possessions.

Stand and Sway

I managed my pain during contractions by standing against the wall, swaying my hips back and forth.

I don’t think I ever knew how amazing giving birth really would be. I still looked though these photos and am blown away that it’s me in images. Ladies, our bodies are amazing machines!

If you’re a birth junkie like me and want to play-by-play version of Paul’s birth, I’ve written each and every detail down in a post on my personal blog.

This is just lovely. I wish I had a Casey to document my baby’s birth come this July. I wont count on my hubby or doula as i think their focus will be on other things :) Paul is beautiful, congratulations.
