I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’m all for breastfeeding, and in public, if it’s necessary (babies should eat when they need to eat, after all), although I think there’s no reason why it can’t be done discreetly. I’m still nursing my 9-month-old daughter, and despite that fact that she’s getting bigger (huge, even), we manage to keep covered up in public when she needs to nurse. No big deal, really.
I’m not sure if there are more high profile births lately or they’re just more noticeable to me because I’m a new mom (again). But I love reading about how Ben Affleck is speaking out on the benefits of breastfeeding, and Jessica Simpson’s mammary glands appear to be large enough to satisfy the milk cravings of a medium-size nation. I don’t actually give a hoot about celebrity opinions; I just love reading about and looking at stuff that I’m also doing while I’m doing it. Which is, right now, breastfeeding.
Grammy-winner Pink recently tweeted a photo of her nursing her young daughter, and it’s exactly the kind of photo I wish I had of me nursing my little Peony. Click below for the photo and see if you also wish you had one this cool:
