Roughly 36,000 strollers are part of a recall after there have been three reports of children losing fingertips due to the product’s hinge mechanism, according to CBS News.

All Kolcraft Contours Options three- and four-wheeled strollers with model numbers starting with ZL002, ZL005, ZL008, ZL015, and ZL018 sold from Jan. 2006 through June 2012 have been recalled.

“A finger can get caught in the opening formed when locking and unlocking the hinge mechanism used to adjust the handlebars on the strollers. This presents an amputation and laceration hazard,” according to a press release.

There have been five reported injuries involving the hinge mechanism, including three children whose fingertips were “amputated, and two adults whose fingers were either crushed or cut.”

The recall involves about 36,000 strollers sold in the United States, and 270 in Canada.
