Sniff. Wow. I started writing for Babble in June of 2011 – about halfway through my pregnancy with Cullen. At the time, I remember clicking over to the Baby’s First Year posts, and wondering how these moms knew what they were doing. I barely had a bump and still felt so clueless.
Months later, Cullen was born and I began on Baby’s First Year myself. I felt like the new kid at school. All these other moms were posting about toys and homemade baby food, and I was still trying to figure out how to swaddle. But week by week, month by month, I slowly made the natural transition from newbie to veteran.
Here I am one year and 233 (!) posts later, and I see posts pop up now from my fellow bloggers that make me smile – posts about newborn sleep, the witching hour, and first baby teeth. In some ways that feels like yesterday, and in others it feels so removed. I sure have learned a lot this year.
Tomorrow, I’ll make the jump over to Toddler Times. I’m sad to leave the baby pool. It feels familiar and comfortable. What are toddlers like? Do I actually have one?
I guess I’ll find out soon enough! I hope you’ll follow me over there, as I continue to blab and babble about all things parenting. Thank you for an incredible year.
