This summer has been a scorcher! We are in Portland this week and for the first time since May we’ve seen highs in the 70s. (this Portland weather has been glorious!) It was so warm in New York that a few times I really thought I was going to die (I am prone to impressive feats of exaggeration and overreaction, though).
Earlier in the summer I ran out and bought a few pairs of what I thought at the time would completely unnecessary “summer jams” for Huck. I figured with our air conditioner running on full blast, he’d be fine to wear his usual footie jammies, but boy am I glad I followed my “shoppers intuition” on this one! There were a few days that were so hot I thought seriously about putting him down in just a diaper. Hooray for summer jams!
After the jump, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite jim jams for the higher temps. Many thanks to my intrepid model, Huck the Truck.
Magnificent Baby magnetic jams 1 of 5The genius thing about these pajamas is that there are no snaps, no zippers, just magnets. Magnets! When you think of summer clothes you think of things that are effortless. This pretty much fits that description to a T. The cotton on these suckers is pretty heavy duty, is the only draw back, but it's the softest kind of heavy duty cotton I've ever felt; it almost feels like velvet.
H&M Tigger romper 2 of 5These are our favorite! And to think I very nearly didn't buy them! I love the stripes and the cotton is extra thin and breathable. I don't looooove branding, but this I can live with.
Baby Gap one piece 3 of 5This is technically a day wear item but that's why I like it--when better but the summer to stay out all day, come home, and just crash in the clothes you're already in? We bought about five of these and sometimes he'll go days without seeing a pair of shorts.
Carters bodysuit 4 of 5Know what's basically a summer jam? A bodysuit.
Birfday Suit 5 of 5When in doubt, a nakie baby always stays cool.
