Over Labor Day weekend, we took our first trip to the beach since we moved to Coastal Texas. One thing I wasn’t sure about was how to best handle Tate. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about, he did awesome.
Going to the beach did make me realize that I need a few things to make it a really great experience. Read about it after the jump.
He fell asleep in the car on our way to the beach, and spent at least half of our time at the beach asleep in his car seat. He spent another quarter breastfeeding in the shade. And we spent a whole half an hour with him strapped in the moby, wading in the water with me. We got his feet wet, but I was unsure about getting too wet in my 8 yards of moby. I am thinking of investing in a wrap made for the water.
I had a hat on him, but wasn’t sure what else I could do for sun protection. I know it is suggested not to use sunscreen on babies under 6 months, but I don’t want that to keep us indoors. So, I am curious what you guys suggest? I was thinking a long sleeve baby rash guard?
Here are a few rash guards (on sale) and water wrap baby carriers I would love to pick up:
