Tate has been growing more and more independent lately. I am simultaneously loving it and wishing I could stop time all together. I still can’t figure out how Tate is already almost 5 months old, and how it is that this kid has only been around for 5 months – it feels like at least a year! In the spirit of growing up and all that jazz, Tate has decided that if the mood strikes him, he likes to sit up all by himself.
He does it best with a toy between his feet to focus on, and he never stays up for more than 30 seconds, but that counts, right? It counts to me.
As I am typing this it occurs to me that Tate’s march toward independence is bringing a big change our way. Pretty soon, I will be forced to move him from his cradle – I am pretty sure if he can sit up on his own, it’s time to move on. And that will be sad for me, like the end of an era.
But until this kid figures out how to get himself into the sitting position, you can bet I will be taking advantage of every night he still shares our room.
I thought I would share a little video of his new found skills in action:
Isn’t it the cutest? Perhaps I am a little biased.
How long do you think I’ve got until he’s sitting up on his own?
