I never thought the first 6, almost 7 weeks of my daughter’s life would go so incredibly fast. Tomorrow marks her 7 week birthday and I am beyond fascinated with her.
I have a really special connection with all of my children, all in a very different way from the others, and I find my connection with her so unique from the connections I share with my boys, it is interesting to learn about on a daily basis.
We went for our 6 week check up the end of last week, and she is progressing like a champ, and growing like a weed!
Here is the run down:
Birth: 5 Pounds 12 Ounces
6 Weeks: 7 Pounds 14 Ounces
Birth: 19 1/2 Inches
6 Weeks: 21 Inches
Holy growth! And all from mama’s milk, which I never thought in a million years I would be able to accomplish this time around, especially with two demanding toddlers in the picture!
Addie is a snacker… she never sits down and nurses for an hour, or even a half hour straight… it is always 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there, at the most 20 minutes at night. It is just how she likes to eat. Although I think it sometimes is easier with the boy children because if I am in one place doing the same thing for too long they want to drag me off for something new.
In the past week Addie has been staying up longer and becoming more aware of things going on around her for sure. She gets super excited when Daddy comes home for the day, it is almost like she knows exactly who he is. She is a total Daddy’s girl already! She also likes the baby carriers better than she did. I have been able to wear her in the Ergo as well as the Mei Tai this week for different things. No more huge meltdowns and freak outs when I wear her.
She is also starting to finally out grow her newborn clothes. Only a couple more wears out of a couple outfits, and then they are going to get packed away. I am going to be so sad to see some of them go since they are incredibly cute! Time to finally move into the 0-3 month stuff she has. A lot of it I got at my baby shower, all perfect and cute summer stuff completely with sun dresses and an actual bathing suit. It is by far the cutest thing I have ever seen, although she won’t be swimming. Haha!
And now… week-by-week Addie… Happy viewing!
