You may remember my first attempt at postpartum exercise. That particular exchange may or may not have ended with me eating pumpkin muffins on the couch, but I digress.
I am here to tell you the secret to postpartum exercise.
Join a group.
I don’t know about you, but I am seriously the world’s worst when it comes to self motivated exercise. I want to be in shape, I just can’t seem to do anything about it. We even purchased an elliptical machine, so that I could easily get my butt in gear. I hang my head in shame when I think about how much it cost and how little use it gets.
I love the feelings that come after exercise, heck I even enjoy workouts themselves. I just can’t be depended upon to do it on my own. Ever.
Over the last few weeks, I have had the good fortune of finding a few other moms that are hoping to get back into shape. We are dependant on one another to get together, we have a set schedule (twice a week), and we get to talk, laugh and socialize while we are at it. It’s a win-win-win, or something like that.
I am already reveling in the sweaty post workouts and the next day sore muscles. I am so excited to get to feeling more fit this next year (and regaining some of that core strength that having my son took away).
