The Oscars App That Helps Me Prepare for the Oscars!

A big thanks to Disney for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.

I have a little bit of a confession to make. I haven’t been to the movie theater in years. Yes, YEARS. Having kids has put a real damper on our movie dates nights that my husband and I used to have prior to kids.

With the Oscars® coming up this Sunday, February 24, I am embarrassed to say that as much as I love the awards show, I am ill prepared to watch. I’ve only seen one of the Best Picture nominations and that was only because it was available to rent from our television provider. Sad, isn’t it?

Although I’ve only seen one movie, I can be better prepared to watch the show on Sunday with the brand new Oscars App! I downloaded the app to get more familiar with the movies nominated for Best Picture, but realized that this app offers so much more than that!

I am a fan of a little friendly competition and I love the “My Picks” feature which lets you pick all of your winners for this year’s Oscars and see how your picks compare to your friends on Facebook. Get as prepared as possible with the Oscars App and then make your predictions, then watch in real time how your predictions compare to your friends. A fun little game to keep you going throughout the night.

And on Sunday when I am watching the show on television, I can have the app loaded on my phone to watch live backstage footage with the Backstage Pass feature. They will let you watch your favorite actors and actresses as they walk down the red carpet, follow the Oscar winners backstage after they win, and even exclusive interviews!

One of the many reasons that I love to watch the Oscars is for the fashion, of course. I love to see what my favorite celebrities are wearing to such an extravagant awards show. With the Backstage Pass, they give you access to over 13 cameras as these celebrities walk the red carpet. I know I won’t miss any of my favorite celebs with so many cameras to cover the red carpet.

Having an Oscar viewing party at your house? The app gives you recipes for glamorous drinks and appetizers for you and your guests. I’m telling you that this app really has thought of everything to get you prepared for Sunday. Brie bites anyone?

For those of you that can’t wait until Sunday to get your Oscar fix, the app has a ton of videos and photos of past Oscars. I love looking through the red carpet looks from the 1960’s. Even more fun is looking through questionnaires filled out by Oscar nominees. Want to know the first movie that Tommy Lee Jones ever saw? The Oscar App will tell you!

For all of your Oscar coverage for Sunday night, go download the Oscars App now! And for more news and information on the Oscars make sure to visit Oscar.com.
