Paul cut his first tooth almost a month ago. It’s been a wild ride of trying to figure out how to best sooth him and keep him comfortable. And while we’ve found a few tricks that work pretty well, nothing comes even close to the rubber banana.
Wait, you’ve never heard of the rubber banana? If you have a teether at home, or a family member that’s new on the oral hygiene scene, the rubber banana is a game changer.
As of last week, it’s baby Paul’s new best friend.
You guys, I was introduced to this amazing “starter” toothbrush by a friend about a year ago, while I was pregnant with Paul. Her son was teething like a crazy person, and the rubber banana proved to be a life saver. Technically, it’s a first toothbrush, but also makes for one amazing chew toy as well.
I love it because now that he has a tooth (just 1, working on a second), it’s a good time to gear up and start brushing those pearly whites.
This brush is 100% chewable, and I’m assuming feels great on sensitive gums. The loop of the banana peels are perfect for babies that quite don’t know how to control their thumbs. And it’s easily rinsed off and sanitized at the end of the day.
Paul loves it for all the above mentioned reasons, and I love it because it’s starting him off on a happy road to good hygiene (and also sets a good example for my big kids to remember to brush and rinse every day).
And come on, a little baby chewing on a rubber banana? That’s pretty darn cute, don’t you think?
