Cullen was an exceptionally early teether. I spotted his first one while sitting in the Honolulu airport, waiting for our flight home from vacation. He was just a few weeks past the three month mark. Shortly after that, number two popped up right next to it, and ever since he’s been grinning big and showing off his pearly bottom teeth.
A few weeks ago, I noticed the familiar white shine of something popping through up top. Sure enough, number three was the on the way! Sloooowly but surely, the tooth has been making it’s way down – this one seems to be taking much longer than the other.
And just a few days ago, during a particularly loud back-arching shriek, I noticed something else…
Not one, but two more top teeth poking through. Seriously, does the straw get ANY shorter than having a baby with three freaking teeth coming in all at once? Needless to say, it’s been a teary and cranky week here for both of us. I’m pulling out all the stops – every chew toy under the sun, Hyland’s teething tablets, and even some baby tylenol when things get really ugly.
My poor little guy is doing his best to laugh and play through the drool and the pain, and I’m keeping close watch on his top gums, hoping it will be over sooner than later. I’m also starting to get weirded out that his smile is going to look completely different once these three finally descend! His little gummy smile is quickly getting filled with chompers.
Here’s hoping there is no biting in our future. Fingers crossed!
