Young adults on the spectrum can provide parents of ASD kids something no one else can: a first-person account of what it was like to be a kid on the spectrum. Through their own accomplishments, these individuals also offer parents of high-functioning spectrum kids a glimpse at what might be possible in the future. Amy Gravino certainly does the latter. She describes herself as “a myriad of identities converging into one petite, 27-year-old body”! Amy is a writer, public speaker, certified college coach, advocate, graduate student, and woman with Asperger’s Syndrome. She is also in the process of writing a non-fiction book on dating and sexuality for people with autism and Asperger’s syndrome called The Naughty Autie. She is an extremely articulate writer, and her posts constantly challenge her readers to open their eyes and their minds.
