Vivi's Thirteenth Week of 2012

Another week has come and gone in Salt Lake City, Utah where we are staying with my parents awaiting the arrival of my nephew. His eviction papers officially list April 1st as his get out date and if he’s anything like my girls, he’ll abide by the rules. Vivi has been sleeping decent and napping well, I’m pretty sure she misses her dad (I know I do) but she hasn’t had any trouble warming up to the people around her.

She has an affinity for buttons and has turned the TV off on my dad at least a half dozen times and has done ridiculous things with the remotes even more. She’s had a variety of new foods including tomato and parsnip and I’m beginning to wonder if I’m dealing with a growth spurt because the baby can pack it away and she’s pretty darn grumpy/clingy. The photographer in me must mention how wonderful the weather has been and how fantastic the light in my dad’s house is. It’s fun to have a new background and new experiences to photograph including Vivi’s first train ride and waffle.

  • sunday 1 of 12
We had lunch with the in-laws, you betcha I chose the seat in the restaurant with the best lighting.
  • monday 2 of 12
So this is the scene around my dad's house, baby on the floor, dogs trailing closely behind to pick up any random snacks that may fall out of the baby's mouth.
  • monday 3 of 12
My dad's front door has the best light and my baby has the best hair.
  • tuesday 4 of 12
My dad is a woodworker and has an impressive shop, Vivi hung out on Tuesday and watched him make stuff.
  • tuesday 5 of 12
Tuesday ended with a waffle. Just how any Tuesday should end.
  • wednesday 6 of 12
Vivi has a soft spot for grandpa and grandpa has an enormous gaping soft spot for Vivi. She sat in his lap and watched Addie play before dinner.
  • thursday 7 of 12
We met friends for lunch at IKEA and wandered around marveling at all the Swedish things available for purchase.
  • thursday 8 of 12
We took my very pregnant sister along with us to IKEA where she had Addie rub her back with a rolling pin. I want a do over on my pregnancy, I didn't realize this was an option.
  • friday 9 of 12
We took the train out to Tiny Gramma's house. Vivi wasn't all that impressed (her first train ride was in Chicago, that's a lot to live up to.)
  • friday 10 of 12
Hanging out at the park with Tiny Gramma, we call her tiny gramma because she is very tiny.
  • saturday 11 of 12
Since her big sister will be leaving before Easter we spent Saturday morning coloring eggs. Vivi just wanted to chuck 'em.
  • saturday 12 of 12
My dad used to do this to us (or so he says, I don't remember it obviously) so it's cute to see him do it with my babies.
