Where Children Sleep

In my job, I spend many hours perusing beautiful nurseries filled with custom bedding, beautiful artwork and the perfect shade of wall paint. We call it nesting. As mothers, we create these gorgeous little spaces for our precious babies. Some of us spare no expense, some of us get creative and make it work on an itty bitty budget and (of course) some of us cuddle all together in a family bed but almost always by choice. In a project which originated as a children’s charity initiative a few years ago, James Mollison began photographing children and their bedroom, knowing that where a child slept often told the story of who they were and how they lived. See a stunning slideshow of Mollison’s subjects and their sleeping spaces around the world…

This slideshow from the NYT blog gives a glimpse into the striking finished book James Mollison: Where Children Sleep
