I’m a huge supporter of women being able to breastfeed their children whenever and more specifically, wherever they want to. If a baby is breastfed, and that baby is hungry? By all means, feed the baby.
I will admit, breastfeeding in public has been a source of anxiety for me in the past. It’s just, you know, intimidating.
I’m getting over my fears slowly and surely, constantly digging deep for confidence, because I know that my baby and I deserve to breastfeed no matter where we are.
This weekend, there’s an event that’s happening nationwide called The Big Latch On. Will you be attending a local “latch on” event in your neighborhood?
The Big Latch On 2012 is a free event where breastfeeding mothers come together and “latch on” their babies at the exact same time, for a one minute period. The point of event is to raise breastfeeding awareness and help communities positively support breastfeeding in public places. Oh, and maybe even break a world record.
Want to find a local “latch on” location? Currently, there are 252 locations nationwide and over 105 locations elsewhere across the globe. Don’t see a location that works for you? Consider hosting an event on your own.
So how about you? Will you be latching on this weekend?
