Zeke is (already) 3 Weeks

Zeke is 3 weeks old

Here we are rounding up another week of my little man Zeke. Oh how this baby has stolen my heart.

Sleep? What’s That Again?

While I would love to say “Zeke is sleeping through the night” – he’s not. We’re up to 5 hours, but this mom is seriously battling insomnia, so sleeping when he sleeps at night – NOT happening.

Schedule – HA!

Yeah, I know. I’ve heard it – get that baby on a schedule.

With our older 2 kids back to school this past week and needing to get them out the door by 7:20 am – mixed in with insomnia and non-sleeping infant, screw the schedule. – for now.

Change of Pace

I am typically someone who is working 50+ hours a week. Not having to do that, and my only responsibility being my kids and new baby has been a total change of pace. While I miss my friends and my work – connecting with this baby has been blissful. I’m staying true to enjoying the moment.

Baby’s Development

Zeke is staying awake more often, and is very alert and tuned into his surroundings. Last night, he recited his ABC’s and counted to ten in Spanish. Okay, maybe not – but it sounded good, right?

Next week, we head back to the doctor for his 1 month well visit. At his 2 week well visit we were told he shouldn’t be eating more than 2.5 oz. Whoops, he was eating 3 oz. And now? Bubba is up to 4 oz. I’m expecting him to weigh in around 9 lbs. His newborn clothes require stretching. This kills me, that means he really is growing.

This Week in Photos

I some how have still remembered to snap a photo each day of our little babe. I love looking back, even from week 2 – to see how much he’s grown.
