10 High-Impact Lipsticks Steals to Swap for High-End Splurges

Sometimes you just need a good lip color. A really good lip color. From the perfect nude to a classic red or even a flattering dark vampy color, an amazing lip color can make or break an outfit. And if you can dupe an expensive lippie with a near exact match, for a much lower price? Somehow, that makes the perfect lip color even better!

There are a lot of great lipstick dupes out there for the most popular lip colors. You just have to know where to shop!

  • Lipstick Dupes 1 of 8
    1145

Some lipstick dupes are 100% spot-on matches, some are slightly different in texture or tone, but they'll all get you the same look for a lot less money!  Do you have a favorite dupe?

  • Classic Red Lip 2 of 8
    330

There comes a day in every woman's life that she needs a red lippie. And MAC's Russian Red can fit the bill for almost any woman, but it's not cheap. There are a lot of very similar colors, but Revlon's is the closest. Similar reds: Rimmel Red Fever, Sonia Kashuk Geisha, Wet n' Wild MegaLast Stoplight Red, and NYX Matte Pure Red.

    Try:
    Revlon Really Red $7.99
MAC Lipstick in Russian Red, $15

  • Universal Vampy 3 of 8
    426

This dark vampy shade works for almost every skin tone and has a near dupe from Wet 'n Wild. There are also two similar shades from Rimmel. Glam Plum Fulham is similar though a little more berry than purple, and Rimmel Dark Knight Water is nearly identical.

    Try:
    MAC Lipstick in Rebel, $15
Wet 'n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Sugar Plum Fairy 908C, $2.29

  • Pinky Coral 4 of 8
    722

This isn't really pink, and it's not quite coral, instead Niagara is a flattering in-between shade. There are two lower priced alternatives, this Revlon and NYX Black Label in Brick.

    Try:
NARS Satin Lipstick in Niagara, $26
Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in Coral-Berry $7.99

  • Cult Favorite Pink 5 of 8
    824

Schiap is that color your local Sephora can't seem to keep in stock. This bright pink works for most skin tones and can easily make your outfit more fab. If you can't seem to find it in stock, check out this Maybelline or Wet n' Wild's Nouveau Pink.

    Try:
    NARS Lipstick in Schiap, $26
Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolor in Hot Plum, $7.49

  • Light Pink 6 of 8
    923

Can't find a good nude lippie? Try going for a light pink instead. It can come across as slightly Mod or as an alternative to a nude, which is the case for MAC's Snob. It also does a great job of not washing you out, which tends to happen with a more nude shade. Also try NYX Lipstick in Power.

    Try:
    MAC Lipstick in Snob, $15
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout, $7.99

  • Pinky Nude 7 of 8
    1035

I'm such a sucker for a good pinky nude shade that I actually own 2 tubes of this NYX and one of the Urban Decay pencil ... and they really are the same! This is a great neutral shade that works for a wide range of skin tones.

    Try:
NYX Extreme Lip Cream in Pinky Nude, $6
Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Love Child, $19

  • Pinterest’s Favorite Nude 8 of 8
    Lipstick Dupes

I'm sure by now you've seen that image of a girl putting on this YSL nude lipstick. I think it has probably sold thousands of tubes of Nude Beige. ELF's lipstick is the closest dupe, though Maybelline Lipstick in Born With it is also close; it's a bit less pigmented with a little shimmer.

    Try:
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté in Nude Beige, $34
e.l.f. Mineral Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink, $5
