8 Fresh Scents to Try This Spring

A couple years ago, I made it my mission to find my signature scent. The task, my new year’s resolution, took months of bringing home testers and taking countless perfumes for a test drive. It was a super fun project, and since then, fragrances have been on my radar. I love to sniff samples from magazines and probably spend a little too much time in the fragrance aisle at Sephora, but nothing has really wowed me. Until now, that is. I’ve recently had the good fortune to come across some really gorgeous scents that have refueled my interest in perfume. I smell a few purchases on the horizon!

Click through the slideshow below for 8 extraordinary spring scents worth a visit to the fragrance counter.

  • 8 Fresh Scents to Try This Spring 1 of 9

  • Tory Burch 2 of 9
    01-toryburch

The first fragrance offering from popular designer Tory Burch inspired me to write this post. It's feminine without being too cloying with notes of peony, tuberose, grapefruit, and neroli. The base is earthy vetiver, which balances the scent perfectly. I'm obsessed.
Eau de Parfum Spray found at Tory Burch $110

  • Dolce & Gabbana Dolce 3 of 9
    02-dolce

Inspired by Sicily, this clean floral scent with white water lily, white daffodil, and white amaryllis has subtle musk base notes that add a sultry quality.

  • American Crew Nine Fragrance for Men 4 of 9
    03-american-crew-nine-fragrance-for-men-2-5-oz-3

I received this cologne in a goody bag and I am so happy I did. It's a men's fragrance developed to appeal to women … and it does. 9 out of 10 women approve, hence the name. This ultra sexy but clean fragrance has citrus notes along with lavender, rosemary, sandalwood, and cleary sage. Both my husband and I prefer it over his old standby.
    Found at Skin1 $29.71

  • Roses De Chloe 5 of 9
    04-rosesdechloe

Roses may be cliché but you've got to admit, the smell pretty darn good. If you like fresh cut roses, you will love this pretty perfume. Close your eyes and you'll swear you're standing in front of a wild rose bush in full bloom.
The Eau de Toilette Spray is available at Sephora $95

  • Balenciaga Rosabotanica 6 of 9
    05-rosabotanica_f

If you prefer your roses with a dash of sass, try this spicy, woodsy scent. It combines rose with pepper, citrus, hyacinth, cardamom, fig leaf, and white woods.

  • Aerin Lilac Path 7 of 9
    06-lilac-path

The house I grew up in was lined with lilac trees, and in the springtime, the whole house would be filled with the amazing aroma. Lilac blossoms come and go quickly, and this fleeting quality always leaves me wanting more. This perfume blends lilac with galbanum, jasmine, angelica seed oil, and orange flower for a truly springtime-inspired scent.
The Eau de Parfum is found at Bergdorf Goodman $110

  • Burberry Brit Rhythm 8 of 9
    07-brit_rhythm

If you like your fragrance to be a bit more irreverent, you should sample this new scent Burberry. Top notes lavender, neroli, and pink peppercorn give way to blackberry, orris, and orange flower, and the base is a sexy blend of vetiver, musk, and woods.

  • Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey 9 of 9
    jo_malone-1-of-1

This springtime favorite of fellow Babble Beauty Contributor, Tamara Floyd, is a delicious blend of nectarine, peach, cassis, spring flowers, and honey. Now it's on my list to investigate.
