If you’ve ever spent any time at all looking for skin care products, particularly those of the anti-aging persuasion you’ve probably heard of Murad. I had heard of them, but until recently I hadn’t actually tried any of their products (truth be told: they’re a bit pricey). But, about two months ago the company sent me a box of products to try (I got to choose the products myself), so I had nothing to lose. I’ve been using them since April and my verdict? Murad’s products are totally worth the price tag and I will definitely be continuing to use their products long after my samples run out.
I tried quite a few products from various Murad lines, but my favorites ended up being from their Essential-C line. A few of the items I tried were a bit too intense for my skin (like this eye cream that I passed along to my mom…she ended up really liking it, so perhaps it’s simply better for more mature skin), but overall I was quite smitten with my samples and noticed results right away (especially on these stubborn forehead wrinkles!).
Obviously we all have different skincare needs (you can get help with a personalized skincare evaluation here), but I wanted to share my experience and favorites for those who are interested. And just to give you a bit of a background on my skin: I am 28 (almost 29…eeek!) with combination skin and was looking for something to help with dark under eye circles, preventative eye wrinkle treatment, and something to attack the forehead wrinkles that have begun to settle in. Here’s what worked…
A Few of My Anti-Aging Favorites From Murad 1 of 7
I tried quite a few products, but these were my absolute favorites - the ones that I am now hopelessly devoted to...
Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel 2 of 7
I was a little skeptical when I first used this mask, because the texture isn't like other masks I've tried before - pretty thin and kind of sticky like clear glue. That said, it's pretty fantastic. I keep it in the shower and use it after washing my face. I leave it on while accomplishing all of my other shower tasks and then wash it off. It really does leave my face feeling much more smooth than simply washing alone and my skin actually looked more radiant and had a nice glow after using it - a bit like a mini facial. I love this stuff!

Murad Instant Radiance Eye Cream 3 of 7
If you can only afford one of Murad's products to add to your arsenal this one should be it. I'm seriously obsessed with this eye cream. I've always dealt with under eye circles and concealer and I have become BFFs over the years - especially after becoming a mom and getting much less sleep. I've tried other eye creams, but always felt kind of "meh" about them and left wondering "Did that really work or am I experiencing a placebo effect?". The first time I used this though, I saw results. First of all the texture is glorious...smoother than smooth and not at all greasy - like nothing I've ever used before. After putting it on I looked intently in the mirror and waited to see if the "minimizes the appearance of dark circles by 30% in 15 minutes" claim could really be true...and it was. I literally watched as my dark circles lightened before my very eyes. This stuff is like magic or witch craft or something and I'm in love. I almost never go out without under eye concealer, but ever since I started using this, I willingly skip the concealer on occasion and it's been wonderfully freeing. My tired friends: you NEED this.

Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum 4 of 7
This serum goes on before my moisturizer and has made great progress on those forehead wrinkles that are the bain of my existence. Overall it has made my skin more clear and dare I say...luminous. The claim on this baby said that it "Improves brightness, clarity and radiance by 60% in less than one week" and though I can't give you an exact percentage for how much more radiant my skin feels, I can say it's feeling pretty freaking radiant. This serum is a winner.

Murad Essential-C Day Moisture 5 of 7
After completing Step 1: Cleansing and Step 2: Treat and Repair with my eye cream and serum, I move on to Murad's Step 3: Hydrate and Protect with their Essential-C Day Moisture. Basically this helps to seal in all the treating you just did and protects your skin with a layer of sunscreen. This is perfect, because some days I just forget to put on sunscreen, so having it be a part of my daily skincare regimen makes things much easier.

Murad Essential-C Night Moisture 6 of 7
This is the night time version of the last moisturizer - basically the same, minus the SPF. The texture is good and doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky - which is never a good thing to go to bed feeling.

Murad Essential-C Sun Balm 7 of 7
And finally, this Essential-C Sun Balm is on my must-have list, because above all, the best thing we can do to prevent our skin from aging is to protect it from the sun's damaging rays. That said, I am the worst at applying sunscreen. I constantly forget to put it on before I leave the house, so then I thought I could just keep it in my purse. But, after one too many times of having SPF face lotions stain things in my purse, I ditched it. This sun balm is a life saver though. It's a solid - like a mini stick of deodorant - and I can just throw it in my bag and pull it out when I need it. My sunscreen application percentage has probably increased by at least 80% since I started carrying this with me. I also really like the texture. Other solid SPFs that I've tried have been really sticky or too dry to apply easily or evenly, but this has a great texture and goes on with just a simple swipe. A must-have for your summer bag - or really year round.
