8 Beauty Products Not Worth The HypeKate Bryan
Sometimes it’s hard to know what products are “worth it” and which ones are over-hyped by the media.
And nearly any advertisement can sell you on a product, when in fact, a real option would probably be better!
There are so many new products that hit the shelves almost daily that it’s hard to navigate them all. And even with great return policies or handing them off to a friend, it’s annoying to deal with a product that doesn’t deliver on what you hoped it would.
I’ve tried thousands of different products in my years as a stylist. From makeup to skincare and hair products, I love experimenting with new things. But every once in a while, I’ll come across something that simply doesn’t live up to the hype.
Click through to see the products that I think you could probably pass on.
Beauty Products that Aren’t Worth the Hype 1 of 9
Japonesque Heated Eyelash Curler 2 of 9
I've tried so many heated lash curlers hoping they'll give me the deep curl that I desire, but they all seem to fall flat. I've found that heating your metal lash curler with a hairdryer for a short amount of time will work much better!
nails inc. Magnetic Polish 3 of 9
This new nail concept hit the shelves a while ago, but it didn't really stick.
CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara 4 of 9
"Skimpy" is the word that comes to mind when I think of this mascara. Sure, it didn't leave clumps behind ... but it didn't leave much definition, either.
L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Lash Boosting Serum 5 of 9
This was one of the first lash boosting serums on the market, and since then, much better options have turned up!
Frownies Eye Gels 6 of 9
These aren't bad by any means, but I just don't know how well they'll work and what sort of difference they will make. Stick with eye cream!
St. Ives Apricot Scrub 7 of 9
This scrub will make your skin feel fresh and new, but it's a little bit too harsh. Treat your skin with care by using a more gentle product.
Argan Oil Self-Heating Hair Treatment 8 of 9
If you are looking for conditioning benefits, avoid hot oils. They tend to weigh the hair down and don't add much "health" back into the hair.
Full Thickening Mousse 9 of 9
I love the shampoo and conditioner from this line, but the mousse is nothing special.
