Coconut Water: Why It’s This Summer’s Must-Have Beauty Product

Everyday-Coconut-Water-Face-Toner-187132007616Coconut water exploded on the scene as the holy grail of beverages a few years ago. It’s hydrating and packed with tons of vitamins and minerals which are effective when ingested or applied topically. It’s no wonder that many cosmetic companies are implementing it in their beauty products!

Coconut water can be a super hydrating toner or facial mist that is packed with antioxidants and anti-aging properties with scientific data to prove it, too.

One in particular that instantly grabbed my attention was, Alaffia Everyday Coconut Coconut Water Face Toner (Amazon, $6.29) which is pictured. Alaffia claims that “coconut water balances and hydrates skin while neutralizing surface impurities.”

In addition to its hydrating properties, coconut water has a wealth of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and more.  These chemical properties give coconut water its anti-aging and antioxidant properties. You can learn more about all of these benefits in this 2009 issue of Molecules.

Like coconut oil, coconut water is known as an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial ingredient that prevents dry skin (dandruff in the scalp), infections, and itchiness.

Alaffia Everyday Coconut Coconut Water Face Toner as a daily toner or hydrating mist has quickly become a summer must-have for me.  It’s refreshing and moisturizes without an oily or greasy feeling.

You can apply coconut water directly to your skin or purchase the product above from Whole Foods or Amazon.

Have you tried any skin products with coconut water?
