Fall 2013 Make-Up Trend: The Cat EyeStephanie Lee
The cat eye has been around since the ’50s, and it’s still a style of makeup that gives us the drama we all need. I am one who has been wearing the cat eye (winged eyeliner look) for a long time. This look can be created with different products, like gel, cream, or liquid eyeliner, for a more dramatic precise look. You can also use a kohl pencil or black eyeshadow for a softer liner look.
1. Start off with a clean, primed eye (create liner after you have applied your shadow if you’re wearing any). With a hand mirror, look directly into it with both eyes open.
2. Using the liner of your choice, line your entire eye as closely to the lash line as possible (you don’t want any skin peeping in between your liner and lashes), following YOUR eye shape.
3. With your eyes completely lined, we can now wing it out by following the bottom lash line up towards the end of your brow (these are your guide lines — DO NOT take the liner to your brows).
4. Once complete, look into the mirror and make sure the liner is symmetrical on both sides. If not, use a pointed Q-tip to even them out!
Remember, everyone has to practice — no one gets it on the first try!!
