I love wearing heels, and I do so at the expense of my feet. I put them through a lot of torture, especially when I wear them all day long like I did yesterday at Alt Summit San Francisco. When I got home last night, I definitely needed to soak them in something soothing. It was late so I gathered a few things from my kitchen (Honey, lemon and apple cider vinegar) and make myself a honey and lemon foot bath.
I used a regular pedicure bowl similar to this one. I filled the bowl with warm/hot water and foot stones, which feels absolutely amazing after having your foot arched all day. I used a 1/2 cup of honey, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and sliced one lemon.
Lemon: I really just love the aromatic scent of lemons but it’s also perfect for removing dead skin cells.
I sat in complete relaxation for about 30 minutes (occasionally using a pumice stone). When I was done, I rubbed castor oil on my feet, covered them with thick socks and went to sleep. Castor oil has a variety of benefits including muscle pain relief and treating small skin infections. It’s also a great moisturizer, especially for the heels of your feet.
