Simple Nail Art: Holographic Green and Geometric BlackRachel Matos
Well, it’s official, I am getting into this nail art thing. For a long time, I shunned it. I thought we needed to put an end to labeling everything (including nail polish) an art form. It was the art historian in me who needed preserve everything within its proper context. But I’m over it. I like nail art! It’s fun. In fact, my latest geometric design was inspired by a recent visit to the Museum of Modern Art, which led to me find this photo on Pinterest after googling Mondrian-inspired nails. This design doesn’t necessarily echo the Dutch painter’s work, but I’m taking baby steps.
I didn’t create a slideshow for this because it’s actually pretty simple to do. I used Maybelline’s Color Show Holographic Mystic Green and Nuance Black Dahlia Nail Laquer. I painted Misty Green onto my nails and let it dry thoroughly. I used Sally Hansen French Manicure strips (they have them without the arch) to block off where I wanted to add the black. I wanted each nail to be different. Add your clear top coat and done! I think it’s really a great color combo for the Halloween season, and I think it would be a great addition to my Maleficent look!
