Well, it looks like I’m about to have breakfast, but actually this is a little concoction I do once in a while to spruce up my skin. You can make an oatmeal scrub or mask depending on how much time you have. I typically make a scrub to polish up my face before heading out for the evening. If you want to get your face makeup ready, here’s what you need to make an Oatmeal Honey Face Scrub.

3/4 cup of oatmeal (I used whole grain steel cut oats)
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup of water
1/4 lemon juice

You can mix all of the ingredients as is, or you can use a coffee grinder to soften the oats. I used a coffee grinder this time. In a bowl, mix your oatmeal, honey, and lemon. Slowly pour the water in while stirring. You can stop at whichever consistency you prefer.

I love this simple recipe. It’s so good for your skin. Oatmeal removes dead skin cells. Oats are also filled with natural cleansers so it leaves your skin free of dirt and oil. Honey is a natural antioxidant, which helps reduce signs of premature aging. It’s also a great moisturizer that leaves your skin silky smooth. Lemon helps reduce pigmentation and helps even out skin tone.

This process is a bit messy so make sure you doing this over your bathroom sink with a towel handy. Gently apply on your skin while massaging in a circular motion. Rinse. Done!

This facial felt and smelled like barf. It was hard to get off, messy to use, and gave my friends and I an abundance of itchy, irritated skin. It only partially did its job; we had smoothish skin on only our cheeks. I would not recommend using this recipe.
