The Perfect Fall Palette

I can’t believe it is already October! Where has the year gone? It’s that time of year for pumpkin spiced lattes, apple picking, boots, and sweaters … although in Southern California, you would have no idea fall is in the air with our 80 degree weather. This is the perfect time of year to change out a couple of your standard beauty products for a few more appropriate jeweled toned hues. I picked up a few new goodies at Sephora a couple of weeks ago and have paired them with my year round favorites.

  • Nars Laguna Bronzer 2 of 8
    nars bronzer

I am pretty pale most of the year, and I do my best to keep my face out of the sun, but that doesn't mean I have to sacrifice that bronzy glow. The Nars Laguna Bronzer gives me the perfect bronzed goddess look year round with a subtle amount of shimmer to reflect light. I look like I just stepped off the beach when I apply it.

  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara 3 of 8

Lets just say this is the best mascara I have ever used...

    1. It builds volume

    2. It lengthens

    3. It is a deep, deep black

    4. It doesn't flake off or get in my eyes

    Enough said!!!

  • Buxom Stay-There Eye Shadow in Schnauzer 4 of 8
    Buxom

I went into Sephora looking for a cream shadow with lasting power, and this was the perfect shade of plum for my fall palette. Buxom makes the ideal plum color (not too purple, not too mauve) for fall, and their Stay-There Eye Shadows may be a new favorite of mine. It has color that lasts all day long, not to mention the shadows are available in a variety of colors.

  • Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Skorpios 5 of 8

I know, I'm a little bit of a Nars fan ... I can't help it. Every time I try to find something different, I go back to Nars. They just keep doing it right! I finally purchased one of their Soft Touch Shadow Pencils, and I can't get enough of it. I was hoping I didn't need to use an eye shadow primer underneath, but if you want to prevent it from creasing, you do! I went with a bronzy color for fall, and let me just say it is awesome! I can line the outer edges of my eye with it or smudge it across the entire lid and wear it on its own. I also love it on the inner corner of the eye.

  • Boxom Full On Lip Polish In Bunny 6 of 8
    Buxom Lip

I have been in such a lipstick craze that, believe it or not, I haven't bought a lip gloss in perhaps the past year! So I thought it was time to try something different. I wanted a neutral lip that I could wear with my fall smokey eye, and after dozens of trials (on my hand — it grosses me out to try product testers on my face), I went with Buxom Lip Polish in Bunny. I love the high shine and the tingly feeling from the plumper that makes your lips appear more plump. I'm loving the pinky/peach color and how much product comes in the large tube. Worth every penny!

  • Nars Lipstick in Heat Wave 7 of 8

I told you I have been in a lipstick craze. Well, I finally got my hot little hands on Nars Heat Wave. Last year I thought it was too orange for me, and this season I'm all over it. Possibly my new favorite red. This will pair perfect with a natural "barley there" makeup look. I love red on the lips when everything else is bare.

  • Nars Illuminator in Orgasm 8 of 8
    nars illuminator

An oldie but goodie ... The Nars illuminator is the perfect way to keep that summer glow all winter long. I'll squeeze a nickel-size amount into my foundation before I apply it for all-over glow, or I'll dab it over the apples of my cheek for a touch of dewiness when my skin needs a little pick me up.
