Before I got into showing all the cool nail art trends for fall, I decided to start with polishes that are simply dark. After my Oxblood Manicure post, several women told me that their husbands do not like dark polishes while others said they just stick to neutrals. If you’re on the fence about it, I say start with Vamp or Rouge Noir by Chanel for a rich dark red that will transform your hand. You may reconsider!
I guess since I do not have time to paint portraits like I did once before, I’ve taken to using my nails as mini-canvases. I love the sophistication, drama, mystery, and elegance of dark nail polishes. If you’re looking for colors for the new season, here’s a selection of dark nail colors perfect for fall.

Chanel Vamp has a such a beautiful shimmery finish. It does not streak and withstands several evenings of washing dishes! Those little things matter sometimes.
Maybelline Blue Freeze, $3.99 3 of 9
Maybelline Blue Freeze dries several shades darker if you do two coats. The beautiful thing about this color is that it has a subtle sparkly finish.
China Glaze Evening Seduction, $5.49 4 of 9
China Glaze Evening Seduction is perfect for that dark red vampy look. The color is very rich. You can apply and go!
New York Color Plaza Plumberry, .99 5 of 9
Love Plaza Plumberry. In fact, New York Color offers so many gorgeous colors, you may have to buy more than one. The colors are vibrant and fun but still classic. And I don't really think you can beat the price.
Nuance Black Dahlia, $5.99 6 of 9
Maybelline Vintage Leather in Violet, $2.99 7 of 9
Don't be fooled by the glittery purple bottle. I'm actually wearing Vintage Violet in the first slide on my pinky finger. The color dries matte and I am convinced I love this finish.
L’Oreal Colour Riche After Hours, $5.99 8 of 9
I'm wearing After Hours in the first slide on my index finger. What I love about this color is that at first it appears black, but it actually has a beautiful blue hue that changes slightly in different lighting.
YSL Noir Primitif, $25.00 9 of 9
Here's a polish I tried recently, YSL Noir Primitif. The color is rich, bold, and actually lasted quite a few days without chipping.
