What's Your Skin Type, Are You Using the Right Facial Cleanser?

skintypecleanser

When it comes to facial cleansing, I take it very seriously. I am a firm believer that great skincare gives us a perfect canvas for a great makeup application, and if you don’t wear makeup you could still have a gorgeous natural glow. However, having great skin shouldn’t be left up to genetics and you shouldn’t settle for just good enough. Our cleansing rituals play a huge part in how our skin reacts. Choosing the proper facial cleanser for your skin type is crucial in keeping  your skin balanced. If you use a product intended for someone else’s skin type it can throw off your skin and it will become imbalanced.

What is your skin type? Are you using the right cleanser for your skin type? Keep in mind there is a product for everyone, whether its oily, dry, combination, sensitive or the coveted normal.

Oily skin might have a lot of pimples, is very shiny, has a greasy oily feel, with noticeably large pores.

Cleansers to try:

1-Mario Bedesco  Acne Facial Cleanser

2-Bioelements Decongestant Cleanser

3-Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Tamarind

Dry skin might appear flaky, red and get irritated quickly especially in drier, colder climates. Also, dry skin tends to get really tight after cleansing.

Cleansers to try:

1-Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil

2-Cerave Hydrating Cleanser

3-Clarins Water Comfort One Step Cleanser

Combination skin has both dry and oily zones, you might have combination skin if your forehead, nose and chin are oily while your cheeks and around your eyes are dry.

Cleansers to try:

1-Boscia Purifying cleansing gel

2-Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk

Sensitive skin feels itchy and extremely dry, looks red easily and is sensitive to many products reacting with bumps, acne or painful irritation.

Cleansers to try:

1-The Body Shop Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser

2-Korres Natural Milk Proteins 3 in 1 (ideal for dry skin as well)

3-Boscia Soothing Cleansing Cream

4-Bioelements Sensitive Skin Cleasnser (ideal for dry skin as well)

Normal skin is none of the above, its well balanced and hardly has any flare ups. Normal skin is the skin type we all wish to have.

Cleansers to try:

1-Cethaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

2-Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser

3-Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel
