It is around this time of year that people begin juice cleanses, smoothie cleanses, and a whole variety of diets. I usually don’t do anything that extreme, but I do try to be extra healthy to help myself detox from the sugary whirlwind of the holiday season. A lot of smoothies can be cleansing and healthy without being part of a strictly regimented diet. Here are a few of my favorites. I emphasize that these are not a part of a major diet, they are more like a refreshing healthy drink that is always great to incorporate into your daily routine. I sometimes will whip up one of these in the mid-afternoon instead of reaching for a cookie, or in the morning for a power breakfast. Here is to New Year’s resolutions!
