10-Minute Christmas Craft: Chocolate-Covered Candy Canes


Because just about everything tastes better with chocolate, I offer up these easy chocolate-covered candy canes. A festive garnish for hot cocoa, cafe au lait, or eggnog, these clever canes are fun to decorate, and even more fun to consume!

Chocolate-Covered Candy Canes

8 candy canes
1 – 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, rough chopped
2 tablespoons heavy cream
sprinkles and jimmys for decorating

Line a cookie sheet with wax paper and set aside. Prepare you decorations, setting them somewhere within arm’s reach.

In a double boiler over medium-low heat, melt the chocolate, stirring until smooth. Add 1 tablespoon cream, and stir until incorporated. Add the second tablespoon, if needed.

Dip the candy canes into the melted chocolate, or spread with a silicone spatula. Set onto the wax paper, and decorate right away. Allow candy canes to cool for at least an hour (freeze if you’re in a real hurry).

Dip in your favorite holiday beverage and enjoy!
