With Fourth of July barbecues right around the corner this weekend, he offers up to tips guaranteed to make your parties sparkle.
TOM’S NUMBER ONE TIP:
- For the ‘coolest’ 4th of July BBQ bash on the block…you don’t need to have everything red, white, and blue. Instead, add a few touches and focus on color! Rather than buying stars-and-stripes-themed tablecloths and place mats, choose linens in a solid red or blue, or a simple stripe or check.
TIP NUMBER TWO
- Lighting is KEY! Use a combinationof tiki torches and lanterns. For the dining table as well as the buffet anddrink stations, simple glass lanterns are perfect. For ground-level lighting, take tall glass cylinder vases, fill the bottom with sand, then anchor a pillar candle inside. Frosted glass glows beautifully and adds a nice ambience to theparty, but clear glass would work just as well. Be sure to use vases that aretall enough to block the wind.
Take these crafty ideas and transform them for year-round entertaining!
