These teeny tiny cakes are cooked in the microwave then topped with whipped topping and a drizzle of hot fudge. You’re exactly two minutes from seriously serving your chocolate cravings, while still being so good to your waistline. Isn’t life grand when it’s little and lovely like this?

    Here's how to make these cute Cake Shots quick! If you've got 2 minutes and a microwave, you're set!

    Grab a box of Red Velvet cake mix.

    In a large bowl, add 1/2 cup of cake mix, 1 tablespoon of mayo, and  3 1/2 tablespoons of water. Stir until smooth.

    Spray four shot glasses with nonstick cooking spray. Pop a few dark chocolate chips in the bottom of each one.

    Spoon the prepared cake batter into each shot glass.

    Microwave all four shot glasses together for 80 seconds, or just until the cake begins to set up in the center.

    Now top each shot glass with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate, and a strawberry.

2-Minute Cake Shots

So easy to make, these cake shots are perfect for those moments when you’re craving cake, but don’t want to make a whole batch. Serve them for spontaneous parties, or prep them ahead for cocktail and appetizer parties where a dessert would be a welcome treat. 

Makes 4

  • 1/2 cup Red Velvet cake mix
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup whipped topping
  • 2 tablespoons hot fudge or chocolate sauce
  • 1 strawberry, sliced into 4 slices

In a small bowl, whisk together cake mix, mayonnaise, and water. Spray four shot glasses with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon 1/2 tablespoon of chocolate chips into the bottom of each shot glass. Spoon batter on top. Microwave all four shot glasses on high for 60-90 seconds, just until the center of each cake begins to set. Top each shot glass with whipped topping, drizzle with hot fudge, place a strawberry on top. Serve and enjoy!
