By brooklynsupper |

Halloween is just around the corner, and we know what’s worrying you –candy. Luckily, we’ve rounded up the absolute worst, most reviled candy around, so you can avoid being that house (you know, the one with the bad candy). Scientists tell us that only about 1% of candy is gross, yet some people still manage to give out disgusting candy on Halloween. Do you know what happens to those people? Their houses get toilet papered. Don’t find yourself in their number this Halloween.

The manufacturer’s site says they are known for their hard, break-glass quality texture. And that’s from the people who are trying to get you to eat them. Image credit: Glane23

What?? Candy Corn is the best! That only belongs on lists of the BEST Halloween candy!

  2. Connie says:

Oh sad! There are so many of my favorite candies on this list!: Jujubes, Sour Patch, Now-n-laters, Laffy Taffy and dots!

What about those weird round taffys that are wrapped in the black or orange paper? They look like salt water taffy, but they taste terrible.

  3. Jess says:

Seriously? Sour patch kids, Laffy Taffy and Now & Laters are awesome. You’re crazy!!!

  4. anna says:

whaaaaat?! alot of these are actually pretty AWESOME!

  5. Nicole says:

I loved Chiclets, Double Mint, Candy Corn, Tootsie Rolls, Butterscotch, Dots, Mounds/Almond Joy and Sour Patch when I was a kid. I still like most of them except the gums.

  6. ashley says:

Sour Patch Kids are probably my favorite candy, but I agree with the caption given to them. :)
Eat too many and your tongue and salivary glands hurt. :(

  7. Jan says:

A very comprehensive list! I still remember a lady who lived up the street who offered shiny red apples on an ornate silver tray. While the presentation was lovely, the disappointment was immense!

  8. Kimberly Romano says:

Those candies bring me back to yesturyear! Yummy! Life was simple then and so was candy!!!

  9. Betty says:

I think the candy cigeretts are the worse thats what gets these youngens wanting to smoke

  10. heather says:

this makes me want some candy corn

  11. Kristyn says:

Don’t forget Chick-O-Sticks and that disgusting black/orange “taffy” that tasted like tar. Also “Boston Baked Beans”. Nasty.

  12. Jean says:

I absolutly hate those peanut candies in the black and orange wrappers. I didn’t think they made them anymore, but then I saw them at the dollar store. You only see them at Halloween time. Instead of handing those things out, you would be better off turning off the lights and pretending you are not home!

  13. amanda g says:

I have a LOT of favorites on this list:( Oh well more for me!

  14. Rachel says:

You were doing fine until Dots….they are my fave! I especially like the little boxes at Halloween. Circus peanuts – right on – the most disquusting “candy” invented.

  15. OTA Mom says:

wrong, wrong, wrong. circus peanuts RULE! :)

  16. Barbara Morgan says:

Sure Sugar Daddy’s taste good, but you can’t eat them fast and you pull your fillings out trying. You have the need for speed on Halloween to get to the next piece of candy.
Antother one which should be forbidden is Double Bubble gum. Little kids try to swallow it.
Tootsie Pops are good but you crack you teeth on them trying to eat them in a hurry.
Red Hots are cool! Burn like heck but your mouth and tongue turn red for 12 hours.

  17. Marin says:

Those candy buttons on paper strips. Paper always sticks to the candy. Yuck.

  18. Ansli says:

I like a lot of these candys. Ithink you should chane the post name to “In my opinion…………………………………………
