Mushrooms…do you love ‘em or hate ‘em? I asked this question on my Facebook page yesterday and the majority of the comments were in the love ‘em category…with a few hates in between. I was happy to see the overwhelming love for the ‘shroom because I personally can’t get enough of them. And after compiling the recipes for this delicious roundup I am having serious mushroom cravings.
So…did you know that September was National Mushroom Month? Who actually makes this stuff up? I love that there is a whole month dedicated to celebrate the ‘shroom and all that is good about them. There is so much more to mushrooms other than the fact that they are delicious, they are actually super nutritious too. Just so you know, while eating mushrooms your body is getting a healthy amount of B-vitamins, antioxidants like selenium and natural vitamin D. Mushrooms are very popular to those that are trying to cut back on their meat consumption or lose weight because they are a such hearty and low calorie substitution for meat in most meals.
