3-Ingredient Cranberry Sauce: Simple & SplendidBrooke McLay
Thanksgiving cooking can sometimes feel overwhelming. You’ve got to get the turkey, prepare the stuffing, mash potatoes, sweeten yams, bake pies, and on and on and on. Getting everything in and out of the oven on time can be a hassle, too. So can cooking everything from scratch. When the whole task becomes stressful, too many of us home cooks turn to prepackaged products to round out our holiday meal.
While it’s certainly convenient to have convenience foods, you miss out on the beautiful flavors and textures that come from cooking fresh. This Cranberry Sauce is so simple, cooks up so beautifully, and better yet, it cooks quickly right on the stovetop, so you don’t need to work it into the oven-swapping schedule. The flavors are fresh and perfect. Just enough cranberry flavor and sweetness to add incredible yum to your holiday turkey. Best yet, the recipe calls for only three ingredients.
Simple, Delicous Cranberry Sauce
1 12 oz bag fresh cranberries
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium high heat until the mixture begins to boil and the cranberries burst. Continue cooking until the mixture is reduced and thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Serve immediately or cool and refrigerate until ready to serve.
